Richwood is a small unincorporated community in Boone County, Kentucky. It was in 1859 a post office called Richwood was established and remained in operation until 1918. Legend has it that the community was named after the local “Rich” family that was living in the area. Boone County is part of the Cincinnati – Middletown, OH – KY – IN Metropolitan statistical area.
