Landen is a suburban town 25 miles north of downtown Cincinnati and is currently a part of Deerfield Township. The area of Landen was once rural farm land first purchased by Mary and Joseph Landen in 1889. It was in the 1970s that the Landens sold their farms to Towne Properties, who had a plan to build a Planned Unit Development including condos and single family homes. The development, formerly marketed as “A Town In The Country” by Towne Properties, was modeled after a resort community in North Carolina. What resulted was 28 distinct communities connected by 12 miles of paved pathways and ten recreations associations exclusive to residents.
Landen Deerfield Park – This 95 acre park has lots of open space, baseball fields, soccer fields, a football field, hiking and biking trails, a lake for fishing and more. The Landen Deerfield Park is one of many parks and recreations offered by Deerfield Township.
Kings Local School District – The Kings Local School District serves residents of the Landen community. The school district has a nationally recognized and award winning fine arts program that includes chorus, band, orchestra, vocal, drama, digital media and more arts opportunities for students.
Woodfield Recreation Clubhouse – The Woodfield Recreation Association has a Clubhouse located on 8873 Creekwood Lane, where members and residents of Landen can enjoy three swimming pools, two tennis courts, sand volleyball, basketball, two horseshoe pits, corn hole, and a grilling area.
